Augmented reality bites

It’s funny (and kinda cool) how a single You Tube video can send a person off on a mind-blowing technological journey of discovery.  That’s one of the things I love about researching on the Internet – just clicking on a random link can lead you down a virtual alleyway to places you’ve never dreamed of.

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago when some of my students showed a TED video in class about Sixth Sense Technology.  I, like everyone in the TED audience, was amazed at the promise that user interface technology like this holds.  Hang on a minute – what’s user interface technology?

Technology I can’t live without

Welcome back! Well, it seems like the right time for lots of new things.  This week we welcome a new Prime Minister (officially) and a new format for Web2Go.  This time around Jenny will be sharing the blogging hot seat with a few techno-minded friends and guest bloggers to bring you regular doses of geeky goodness and the very best of ‘What’s next?’ in cyberspace.

Web2Go Mini Series: operating systems explained (Linux)

Web2Go ventures into Linux land.

As far as operating systems go, Windows dominates the market, at least according to the statistics. In December 2009 Market Share reported that 92.21 percent of users had a Windows operating system while 5.11 percent of users preferred Mac OS X. Only 1.02 percent of users were working with the third most popular operating system, Linux.
