Assistive technology forums

Two assistive technology forums will be held in August at Blacktown and Newcastle. These forums offer a range of practical information on the types of assistive technology available for use in the education, employment and community sectors. The focus of the forums is on the issues surrounding the search for appropriate technology and its implementation.

Makaton workshop

Thursday 28 May 2009 – Penshurst

Makaton is a vocabulary of key word signs and gestures used with children with speech and/or language difficulties. Presented by Makaton Australia and The Spastic Centre, this basic Makaton workshop will be of interest to families, carers and professionals working with children with communication needs.

It will be held at Penshurst Anglican Church Hall, 2 Carrington St, Penshurst (cnr King Georges & Forest Rds entrance from Carrington St) on Thursday 28 May from 9.30am to 3.30 pm.
