Seeking people with CP for hand research

Hand coordination is a big issue for people with cerebral palsy (CP), but new research may help develop new treatments to improve hand activtity. Associate Professor Nicholas O’Dwyer is leading the research team at the University of Sydney. Members of this team are working on hand coordination, which in turn will have clinical implications for improving hand activity in people with cerebral palsy. They are looking for children (over 8 years of age) and adults with CP including hemiplegia, diplegia, quadriplegia, ataxia and athetosis who would like to receive a testing of both arms (no cost involved). They hope to investigate the full spectrum of cerebral palsy, including people with little or no difficulty with activities of daily living.
