Terms like respite, group homes, advocacy and intake are often a mystery to people with a disability and their families, but people whose first language is not English have even more difficulty. To help them, and the community workers who support them, the NSW Department of Human Services has worked with the Multicultural Disability Advocacy Association (MDAA) to produce a series of factsheets which translate common disability terms into different languages.
