Have you ever thought why the air hostess tells you to put the oxygen mask on yourself first before helping an infant?

Well lets turn the situation around, you’re in a plane, oxygen goes out of the cabin and the masks drop down. With the thought of saving your child you try and put the child’s on first and, while you are struggling to do this, you pass out. You may have been successful in getting the child’s mask on, however, if you weren’t now you’re both dead … not a good idea, eh?
