On the weekend, I realised that CP and I are still running this marathon that no one else can see … the one where you’re constantly trying to out do each other and keep each other in line.
In my early teens I could walk on crutches and often did so around the house, even up stairs. I pretty much only used my chair in public and to cover long distances. A few operations, plus limited time for physio, and I never quite got back to where I was.
