GE brightens our day

Wasn’t last Friday just the perfect day for being outdoors? The sun shone, though it wasn’t too hot. For those of you who worked so hard weeding and clearing the site at Allambie and making it much less of a fire hazard we are very grateful. Were you as surprised as we were when you actually filled that huge container? Clearly GE volunteers don’t do things by half.

If you were one of the painting team – what can we say! Clifford Possum would have been proud of you. You took our breath away with what you produced. Lots of hidden talent in your group! Apart from defining the edge of the garden beds more clearly, which makes it all safer for our wheelchair users, huge thanks for making their route home so colourful and attractive. We think your ‘aboriginal’ styled painting fits so well with the surroundings.

GE Give a Garden

When you heard that the children who attend our Wetherill Park site wanted a garden, you didn’t hesitate to grant their wish. Not only did you supply the ‘muscle’, you also donated all the materials it took to build a magnificent raised planter box that would be accessible to our children who use wheelchairs.

Even the thunderclouds overhead and the threat of imminent rain didn’t stop you. Did you know you were such talented carpenters?

Golden slipper

Golden Slipper – The Race that is Fast and World Class

The horses may have been the fastest on four legs on Saturday, but we think all our wonderful volunteers were also fast and world class. Huge thanks to everyone who gave up a chunk of their weekend to sell commemorative pins. You raised an amazing $18,000+ in just a few hours and we could not have achieved this without your help.
